A couple recent reviews of concerts

Here are a few recent reviews of Panic! at the Disco concerts. I will warn you that some are good and others aren't so friendly.

A pop punk band that delivers clever lyrics and intriguing arrangements is a rare find. For every Green Day there is about 100 acts offering three chords and a blast of banal lyrics at Warped Tour.

However, Fall Out Boy rose above the muck last summer with the album "From Under the Cork Tree." The disc blends engaging melodies with strong readings of bassist's Peter Wentz's pointed lyrics concerning woman problems - the results mostly transcend the typical MTV and "TRL" fare.

A friendly review of another amazing Panic! at the Disco show:

In front of more than 2,000 spectators, Panic! played songs in the tunefully wound-up style popularized by bands such as My Chemical Romance, Motion City Soundtrack and Fall Out Boy -- whose bass player signed Panic! to the independent record label he runs on the side. But with a cellist and extra keyboardist joining the quartet live, and burlesque extras bounding across the stage, the band showed there's more to the music than churning guitars and boyish singing. Panic! brought the breathless punk-pop operettas on its debut album fully to life.

Heres a little harsher one, but still a very honest review of a recent Panic! at the Disco concert:
Once the band finally took the stage Friday night, lead singer Brendon Urie begged the crowd to sit tight. He passionately performed the first lines and chords of "The Only Difference Between Martyrdom and Suicide Is Press Coverage." Then it was obvious the group brought ambition and the tongue-in-cheek drama that characterizes its hometown.

Gone were the worries that this might be just another pop band for the ninth-grade set, as even grown men sang along with the teenagers to "Lying Is The Most Fun a Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off," a song about a jealous lover. And they eagerly eyed the backup vaudeville troupe waltzing onstage next to the sharply dressed band, which grew from a quartet to a sextet for the tour.
